The video on the communicator....

Dear Father,

Hal contacted me and showed me a video clip he down loaded from the communicator. Before I tell you what I saw, I should let you know the background. WaterLord has been working with an aquatic humanoid culture. Studying them and helping them better understand the world above water. His greatest worry was that, because of the damage the humans were doing to the global water and all the aquatic species, this small population of creatures were threatened with extinction. He had hired a local marine biologist to help him develop, more or less, a S.C.A.B.A (Self Contained Abovewater Breathing Apparatus), so these water breathing beings can spend time on land. There were many journal notes, and video and audio recordings of his interactions with the creatures. There were even demonstrations in the videos that WaterLord was beginning to learn their language. His vocabulary was limited but he was definitely communicating with them, verbally and... spiritually. He was connecting with them.

But something happened. This is the last video recorded on the communicator:

Waterlord was recording himself and a couple of these creatures at an isolated lagoon on one side of the island, testing a breathing device. Three of the creatures were wearing the devices, walking around the beach. In the video (which appears to have been taken from a stationary location and is a single, fixed shot), WaterLord and his three creatures are suddenly enveloped from above by some kind of blue-green energy field (likely a force field). Some kind of stealth aircraft/helicopter descends quickly, landing on the beach not too far away from them. Six or seven beings emerge from the craft, and close on the force field. Waterlord somehow got out of the enclosure and arose from the sand and attacked the people. The image is somewhat distant and blurry, but you see a short, brutal battle between Waterlord and this force. Vastly outnumbered (6 or 7 to 1), it appears that WaterLord was struck by some kind of ray or attack that either killed him or caused him to dissipate into consituent water atoms. At the end of the battle, his suit is lying limp and torn on the ground. The attackers then opened the force field and blasted the three marine humanoids with some kind of ray, apparently killing at least two of them. One of the wounded humanoids on the recording was, most likely, the individual recovering in my medical facility. Hal determined that the individuals attacking were DeathTrap (94% probability), New Wave (88% probability), Nero (75% probability), Harlee Quinn (91% probability) and everyone's favorite, Casino (98%). The helicopter they arrived in fit none of the schematics Hal had access to, so it was most probably one of the Ozian crafts Nomad uses.

Nomad is up to something new. All we have to do is figure it out and stop it.
